Mr Price Problems

I would like to warn you that this is going to be a rant about Mr Price and that it could be quite lengthy!

A few weeks ago my cellphone was stolen out of my mothers pocket (I had asked her to keep it for me) in the Mr Price store in Canal Walk. My mother had noticed someone following us but we just rushed out of the store. It did not occur to us to check our pockets but when we got to the car, we realized the phone had been stolen.

Now I know there was no way I would get my cellphone back so I decided to call the store to tell them to check their cameras so that they could maybe put up a warning about this guy that stole the phone. I spoke to the manager who told me they do not have any cameras in store. Have any of you been to Mr Price in Canal Walk? It is huge! I really do not understand how they do not have cameras. The manager was also very nonchalant and didn't even apologize for the fact that I was troubled in his store. He tried to end the conversation as soon as possible.

I then tweeted Mr Price and I did not get a response. I continued to tweet them but they ignored me and only replied to those who had something good to say about their store. It was really frustrating.

I then tried calling their call centre and they had me on hold for so long that I eventually just put the phone down and gave up.

I am incredibly disappointed in Mr Price. I have been buying from them since high school and I never expected them to have such bad customer service.

  2. I think they lying about not having camera's there is no way a store with so much merchandise doesn't have camera's , sorry to hear about your phone and the weird person following you .

  3. lol i never buy from them i feel i can't breath in the store because they have no aircons so i don't go in. Mr p is very budget so i am not surprised they don't have cameras. Plus i punch ppl if they try to stand close to me lol i have space issues

  4. They called today and wanted to find out everything that was wrong, and woops, 2mins later, I got an email saying my order has been delivered to my nearest store!

  6. I find they tend to sway between overly responsive when they have a big launch and their PR machine is on full grind and then the rest of the time their service is terrible. I love the store and spend thousands on their online store but recently I have been experiencing numerous issues with the infrastructure of their site. I used the live chat on their site and the woman did not help one bit she just said the technicians will have to look into it, she can't help. So I emailed them and screen captured my issue but have heard not a peep a week later.

  8. The exact same thing happened to me at the Tygervalley branch. Phone stolen! And the manager and staff could care less! And they also have no cameras.
    This is the reason I don't shop in stores anymore, especially Canal Walk! The store is ALWAYS busy, overcrowded and filled with suspicious people.
    Its a shame, when I tweeted them about my stolen phone I also got no response.

  9. Good grief, what TERRIBLE service! I'm glad you raised a stink about it, it's simply NOT acceptable. Customer Service in SA is freaken appalling and I can't stand it when assistants deign to help me. Like I should be grateful for their presence.I've worked in retail before and I don't think I've ever treated someone badly. I agree with Chals, put up a complaint on Hello Peter.

  10. This is really terrible! I love their clothes but I haven't shopped there in so long because of their space issue. I mean, Canal Walk's is so ridiculously cramped and everything is just stuffed on the shelves hand hanging spaces. I really hope the person who stole your phone gets their comeuppance! I agree that such a large chain retail store does have cameras.
